It is an intense battle of wills as well as a battle for understanding as the pair navigate their way through court intrigue, traditions and society, war, and finally a chance of understanding. This struggle between Freyrik and Ayden was depressing. I was putting it off because of the cliffhanger everyone was talking about but after finishing it, I’m really glad I read it.
