What I did really like was the platonic relationships between the characters.

There is a hell of a lot of the day-to-day, and let me tell you, these people have all got so much stuff on thhe plate that it was somewhat exhausting. With her trilogies, I’ve always found the first book to be the strongest, as it sets up the world, the location, the social environment for the trilogy.


Their scenes reminded me of the best friends scenes in Nora Roberts Bridal Quartet series and was a major reason why I enjoyed that series so much.

One thing I loved about this trilogy was the banter and obvious affection between the brothers and their families. Even the physical book itself is designed that way, with heavy, deckle-edged paper.
