Their lives are ruled by a world made up of double standards. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. The reason my rating dropped for the book was more due to the style it took, especially after her arrival in Mexico.

From her birth on a Lancashire country estate in to her death in Mexico 94 years later, she remained a magical, faintly disconcerting presence, defiantly attached to the weird familiars and phantoms of her imagination through spells of obscurity or madness.
